Am I missing something here?

I like good tools but there’s no way I’d spend $5 a piece some sockets (especially since those sizes are already covered with a nice SK set in my toolbox). If you’re looking for a set, find good tools secondhand at a yardsale or buy a mid-range set new for less than this nonsense costs used.

If you make a living off these tools and require them to perform daily, then maybe np.

Fr a home-gamer like myself, that money is probably better put into cheaper tools.

Looks like a good price for Mac sockets. Yes, Harbor Freight or Craftsman or whatever cheap bullshit Chinese bought at a yard sale crap, will work. Until it doesn’t. Nice tools are completely worth it.

Also, t here is a used 1 - 5/16" socket on there for $72. You’re getting 12 times more for $12 less.

You may think this is me being maudlin, but it’s a little bit like being a musician and wanting a decent instrument. Not a Stradavari, but decent. And I’ll hand down the old Craftsman stuff to my son-in-law, who will be very pleased to receive them.

I’ll not pay over the $60 opening bid amount, though, for these.

If I can get it at $60. I won't pay any more than that.

It's like wanting a decent anything, in my opinion. I have a pair of $400 boots I have had for about ten years. I could have bought the $100 boots, but I wouldn't still have them in ten years.

Boots are tools, too. Quality versus junk, and the satisfaction ad en joyment of using the former.

If you’re ever looking for a pair of boots that will last forever, I highly recommend the Wolverine 1000 Mile boots. I have 4 pairs... The pair I wear when I am working in my garage has been resoled 3 times and currently look like this:

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweet taste of low price is forgotten

My Frankenstein feet need more support than work boots can offer. I’m currently using Oboz hikers that work well.
